TIDI in collaboration with IIIS is hosting its annual Africa Day event on the theme: Food for Thought: Revitalising African Agriculture for Food Security and Poverty Alleviation. This conference will be addressed by keynote speakers: Ousmane Badiane, Director for Africa, International Food Policy Research Institute and Steven Were Omamo, Deputy Director, Policy, Planning and Strategy Division, UN World Food Programme. Justin Kilcullen, CEO, Trócaire will deliver the Irish response.

Guest Speaker: Ms. Florence Ayisi. Florence is a film Producer and university lecturer.
One of her films, “Soccer Queens of Zanzibar” will be shown at the lecture and participants will have the chance to talk to her at the end of the lecture.
Keynote Speaker: Don Mullan- Mullan was Director of AFrI (Action from Ireland) 1979-93, Concern worldwide from 1994 until 1996. Mullan was invited by Archbishop Tutu to attend a symposium on Robben Island in May 1994, the week following the inauguration of President Mandela. Apart from his development work, Don is also a media producer and was co-producer of a film about Bloody Sunday.
