Event: Carrickmacross will come together on Saturday 29th May at the Fiddlers Elbow from 2 - 5pm to celebrate Africa Day.
The event represents a unique opportunity for local African families to share their wealth of culture and for local people to experience a taste of Africa through food-tasting, arts and crafts, showcase of music, dance and stories of African heritage. A chance of the town's diverse community to meet and mix together, the day is being organised by local Congolese families and Carrickmacross Befrienders Group with funding support from Irish Aid.
Irish Aid, Ireland's official aid programme to developing countries, is delighted to support events marking Africa Day. The focus of Ireland's aid programme is the fight against poverty and exclusion in some of the world's least developed countries, particularly in Africa.
