Sports Extreme Trampoline

In addition to fun attractions such as 'extreme trampoline' (pictured right), there were a range of sporting activities on offer at 'Africa Day @ Iveagh Gardens'.  These included:

GAA and the Camogie Association

12noon - 2pm, Sports Area 1

The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) and the Camogie Association were on hand during the Africa Day celebrations, hosting hurling and camogie workshops and mini-competitions in the Iveagh Gardens. 

SARI

12.30pm - 1.30pm, Sports Area 2

SARI - Sports Against Racism Ireland - hosted penalty shoot-outs, African games and football skills workshops at 'Africa Day @ Iveagh Gardens'.  For further information on SARI, click here.

25 with the AfroIrish Kideo Youth Club AfroIrish Kideo Youth Club

1.30pm - 3pm, Sports Area 2

The AfroIrish Kideo Youth Club hosted a traditional African game, called '25' (similar to 'Dodge-Ball'). Participants are placed on two teams: one team has players at either end of the pitch and the other teams' players are inside the pitch.

In addition to their participation in the Sports Area, the AfroIrish Kideo Youth Club also staged a dance performance in the Kids' Zone in the Arts Marquee from 4.30-5pm.

FAI

2pm - 4pm, Sports Area 1

The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) hosted numerous activities at 'Africa Day @ Iveagh Gardens'.  These included mini-matches and skill-based challenges.
