Edun Live
Edun Live is part of the socially conscious clothing company, Edun, which was launched in spring 2005 by Ali Hewson and Bono. Edun is a for-profit business, founded on the premise of trade, not aid, as a means of building sustainable communities.
Edun Live's mission is to drive sustainable employment in sub-Saharan Africa through high-volume sales of blank t-shirts and organic t-shirts to the promotional products and merchandise industry. The purpose of Edun Live is to offer companies the chance to trade both ethically and competitively. The t-shirts are 100 per cent 'grow-to-sew' African, which means that the economic and social benefits of each step of the value chain remain with - and have a direct impact on - those who make Edun Live products, especially women, who form a large percentage of the workforce.
The facilities used by Edun Live are located in countries such as Tanzania, Lesotho and Uganda.

Traidlinks / Heart of Africa
Traidlinks is a not-for-profit organisation that has its origins in the Private Sector Forum of 2004, which explored how to build links between the Irish business community and the Irish Aid programme in developing countries.
The Traidlinks vision is to diminish poverty in developing countries by inspiring, supporting and promoting enterprise, and to contribute sustainably and equitably to local and world trade. It aims to facilitate the engagement of the Irish business community in the development and delivery of commercial and socio-economic activities in order to promote enterprise and diminish poverty in the developing world.
The Heart of Africa brand
was developed by Traidlinks in order to provide a route to market for premium African food products. It represents a group of leading Irish companies working hand-in-hand with African businesses to share skills and support, creating a natural and healthy range of products. All profits from the Heart of Africa range go directly back to the communities the products come from, creating more jobs and a better life for local people.
